Chris Benoit is a disgrace.
CM Punk is simply a laughing stock. |
The nerds on this board will probably all vote yes but the answer is no, of course not.
Joe Rogan is salty as fuck and hates Punk for some reason that is anyone's guess. I dunno if Punk fucked his girl or ran over his dog or what but he was brutal towards Punk leading up to this fight, during the fight on commentary and after the fight. Like damn dude, we get it, you don't like the guy. Move on. He'd fit right in with the PWB with his anti-Punk hate.

Joe is singing a different tune than what he was saying during the fight. At least at the start of the fight he was saying he liked what he was seeing so far, and then by round 3 it was sort of neutral. This is just full on clowning the guy. Even though I do agree with the gist of what they're saying. But as far as CM Punks "not having a physique" goes, I think he looks alright. Having a good looking body doesn't correlate to being a fighter. Certainly not any worse than Tim Sylvia who by the way is a former UFC world heavyweight champion.

The nerds on this board will probably all vote yes but the answer is no, of course not. Nah, he hates him because he doesn't like how this dude just waltzes in and cuts the line of legitimate, more deserving UFC fighters who bust their ass to even hope to be on tv AND manages to get not one, but TWO pay-per-view matches. He doesn't respect the fact that he has no amateur background, makes the UFC look terrible, and just has this "Welp, at least I tried!" attitude about it at the end of it all. He basically just represents the core UFC fanbase who didn't give a fuck about who CM Punk was in the first place. |
Punk tarnished his reputation in the wrestling industry because it destroyed his tough guy image. With Brock, at least you know he could rip your head off for real.

Wouldn’t really call that a roast. Just an analysis. Agreed. He and Dana White both said he’s a really nice guy and they appreciate his heart that he gave it his all. He is just stating the facts that Punk is not talented as a MMA fighter and doesn’t belong in the UFC which is supposed to be where the top level of elite fighters perform.
Won't change signature until Samoa Joe wins a world championship in WWE or is released!!

For those who refuse to click links:
“He’s a very nice guy and he’s a hard worker, but he does not have athletic talent,” said Joe. “He’s missing....he’s a showman, and when he was in the #WWE, he was allowed to say, ‘I am the fucking man!’ And throw his hand up in the air and say he is the man, and they had it scripted so that he was the man. But when you’re in there with a guy like Mike Jackson, who had zero fear of him and was just so casual, popping him in the face anytime he wanted to, he literally could’ve stopped him anytime, if he got angry and wanted to stop him, he could’ve at any point in the fight.” “He doesn’t have the ability to move his body right. There’s a lot of guys you can take out there, track and field guys, football players and you can get them to fight better than him in a couple of weeks easily because they are athletes,” explained Joe. “They’d understand how to shift their weight and throw a punch. He doesn’t have any talent, is all it is, he doesn’t have physical talent for whatever reason. Whether it’s his approach, his intensity. It’s not his coaching, it’s Duke-fucking-Roufus"

I like Rogan. He's a real smart guy and his podcast is one of the best in the business, but he's always hated on pro wrestling. I didn't expect him to be pumped up about Punk either way. This. Punk didn't do well, so of course Rogan isn't going to approve. At the same time, Rogan was so into making sure everyone knew Punk was a scrub, he gave Punks opponent free reign to **** off and basically make a mockery of MMA. |

To MMA fans, cm punk coming in and getting two ppv fights and big paydays, while being a complete jabroni... This is their version of pro wrestling having David arquette come in and win the world title "But Brock"-- Brock was met with the same heavy criticism at first. But over time, he showed me was a freak that belonged there |

Gonna disagree with the idea that you can take any athlete from another sport and teach them to fight. That's bullshit and just trying to insult wrestling.
I also disagree with the premise that Rogan is a smart guy. His choice of guests shows otherwise.

You didn't understand. Rogan was saying you could take an athlete from a variety of sports and they could learn to fight. The implication was that any "real" athlete can pick up MMA, but pro-wrestlers aren't real athletes. That's simply idiotic. Some athletes are very successful multi-sport athletes. Others suck. Look at Michael Jordan: one of the greatest basketball players of all time and a mediocre minor league baseball player.

Punk's a hypocrite. That's why I don't like him. He complains about part timers hogging high spots on the card in wrestling but when he gets an offer he does the same in UFC. This is a very salient point that doesn't get brought up often enough.

I can't agree more, punk is never been an athletic guy, even in wrestling. His bucket list of being an MMA fighter can now be crossed off. He's never been a fighter, he just played one on television. He's out of the UFC as far as I know.
