They had a falling out a couple of years ago and refuse to be booked together.

This is the biggest tragedy ever.

It kinda is.

Danny Basham was pegged as being a big star in developmental. He was the nephew Danny Davis, had been training since he was a young teen, he was super-over as a face and a heel. Drew crowds, made money, looked great, worked with anyone, had good matches and could talk with a good look.

WWE shaved him bald and threw him in a jobber tag team with another ugly bald guy and made them machoist bitches of a dominatrix.

It would be the same as if they took Neville or Adam Cole or Nakamura or Samoa Joe or Kenny Omega and shaved them bald and throwed them in a jobber team.

Danny could have been a big star. WWE burned money over him for literally no reason

No.

They don't even look alike. Hence why they had to be shaved bald.

But it's a blatant rip-off of Kill Bill's theme...

Yup.

I got them mixed up. Which just kinda furthers the point.

Do you have any sources on these statements? Or are you just saying BS in a desperate attempt to blame WWE once again for bad booking?

He's regurgitating a bunch of crap Jim Cornette said about stuff he booked. And Jim thinks everything he books is brilliant, even though most of its stale and uninteresting. I doubt Doug was that great....

Which one was 'Damaja'? Talented Basham or other Basham?
DARK ANDY 7 hours ago#12
The good one was actually VERY good, he was a top talent in OVW, was supposed to be on the level of Batista and John Cena when they were at OVW as well.

You can clearly tell there is an entire gulf of talent difference between the Bashams. One of them was doing a bunch of unique moves, bumping great, stringing matches together, while the other was a dumb hoss with awkward bumps.

Damaja was Danny Basham. He was good.
Doug was another guy they had on the roster who they just threw him together with.

Doug was actually VERY good.
Prior to turning Doug into a bald Basham tag team brother, they originally brought Doug into WWE with his OVW gimmick (where he was over with the crowds and on the same level as Cena and Batista during the OVW days) for a short time on Velocity before they ruined Doug. This is MUCH, MUCH better than the crap that followed:

Why the hell WWE creative dropped his OVW gimmick and repackaged him into a horrible tag team jobber act, I will never know.
I really miss his early OVW stuff as well:

Danny(Damaja) was supposed to make his debut at the Royal Rumble after winning a tourney in OVW, but they scrapped it for whatever reason.

Doug wrestled Dark Matches and on Velocity as himself for a while before they decided to shave his head.

The kicker was in OVW they were heated rivals of each other in a program when they shaved their heads, changed The Damaja into Danny Basham and debut them on the Main roster as a low card Tag Team. I remember them making some stupid reason on OVW tv that one week they were trying to hurt each other and the next week their brothers and tagging together, but I forget.
Looking back on that time, they fucked up A LOT of the guys from developmental when they came up to the main roster. A few off the top of my head:

- Rico Constantino
- Doug Basham
- Damaja
- Leviathan (Batista)
- Matt Morgan
- Prototype (John Cena)
- Everybody in the Spirit Squad
- Jillian Hall

Only a handful of the guys in that list alone managed to overcome it, either by repackaging (Dolph Ziggler), or by fluke chance (John Cena).
There's nothing here.

From what I saw of her, she was essentially Bayley before Bayley was Bayley. Then WWE put that stupid mole thing on her face, encouraged her to get pneumatic tits, and it just went to hell from there.

Jillian Hall was apparently a legit indy wrestler or something. I've seen videos of her doing 450s and stuff.

If you were a fan and active on the internet at the time, this stuff was pretty common knowledge. Jillian and the Bashams were all hyped to be something special, as was Nova and Nick Dinsmore.
