I never believed for a second Meltzer was biased when people would say that... until now. He is 100% biased towards Omega because that match was not 5 stars. If it was, then every Bate/Dunne match is 7-8 stars because that match didn't come close to any of those 3.

Jericho is a B+ in ring talent at best. Jericho/Omega was not 5 stars. Jericho is incapable of having an amazing match, especially now. Great matches, sure, but amazing? No.

It's not the performers in WWE. It's WWE literally forcing them to work the same styled match every single time. It's boring repetitive and have the same formula. That's not a thing in Japan. Which is why the matches are better.
They're different things though. WWE likes storylines and characters a lot and they highlight that. Even though they kinda suck there too. And njpw likes the in ring work. I'm usually the former but right now I fucks with njpw because honestly they're delivering on the other aspects better now because WWE makes movies not wrestling. Apparently.

It was a good match. Not as good as Naito/Okada. I would have rated the match slightly higher had Omega sold the walls.
He was in that move FOREVER. As soon as the hold was broken he bounced straight off the ropes to retaliate. Really took me out of the match personally.

The storytelling in Naito/Okada alone was incredible and I could write paragraphs about why Naito lost with callbacks to events from four years ago. You can't do that with WWE's stories.

4.5 I'd believe, but 5 Stars? I think his match with Benoit at Rumble 2001 was much better than this.
Biased Meltzer is biased. However, it was his best match since his feud with HBK...so near 10 years of so so matches... About time he has a good one. |

It was not a 5-Star IMO. It was a 4-4.5 since Omega spamming V-triggers and Jericho spamming WoJ took some of the excitement of the match for me and let to boring spots of march. Great match but not 5 star although is one of it not best match of Jericho
