And it isn't a matter of him preferring better female talent. He used to bitch that Sable was taking time that could go to TAKA or some such. It's almost always "boo-hoo attractive women taking time from lowercard men I like." So Meltzer gets vindictive toward the women. Even if you don't think less talented women should be featured based on look, you can say as much without calling the women fat, or aging strippers, or crack whores, etc.

He has said some dumb things in the past, and he pretty persistently owns up to them just like he has now. He's also, for years, spoken out against WWE's shitty treatment of ladies. The newsletter was perpetually filled with disgust at stuff like those shitty Molly Holly and Piggy James angles, and he's always spoke out in the name of pushing talent regardless of whether or not they're "traditionally pretty" Getting pissed off because Sable sucks in 1997 does not magically preclude you from ever being progressive, no matter what woke twitter clowns want you to believe.

Meltzer is fine toward women he thinks are "good wrestlers" because all Meltzer cares about his what he considers "good wrestling." But he's an ass about anything that isn't "good wrestling," and when it comes to the women, he tends to be sexist toward attractive women who aren't "good wrestlers."

Eh, my gripe with it was both Metlzer and Alvarez knew what they were saying before they said (they even went before they said it to “oh we shouldn’t say but we will anyway”)
