Why does anyone care about his star ratings? It's just his opinion. Of course he contradicts his own opinions quite often but at the end of the day it's his opinion.
Njpw fans brag too much about his ratings. WWE fans shit on it cause they feel slighted. NXT on average get his best ratings. Meltzers opinions on matches get thrown out the window to me the moment I heard him say he will overlook a lack of psychology if the crowd is into it. That's not quite how this works. The crowd would be into a Torrie Trish bra and panties. Doesn't mean it should main event WrestleMania. The crowd was the most into Hogan and rock than a lot of crowds I've seen. Didn't stop Dave from giving it 3.5 stars. But when 800 fans are into a Joey Ryan match or some other indie match he'll go the crowd popped so it works, therefore I can rate it according. But that's just a cover for him basically saying I prefer this style of match but to seem unbiased I put this loosely listened to filter called "crowd reactions"

I dunno why people get so worked over Meltzer.
Its his rating system and it doesnt have to be the be all end all system in rating matches. I mean considering he hasnt even given Danielson, Angle and Benoit a five star match shouldve been raising warning signs long ago.
