- WWE allegedly "interested" in bringing CM Punk back (possible spoiler)
Thoughts? I realise the IWC would literally cream their underwear the night he showed up on Raw, especially if it was in Chicago, but I doubt it'll happen, the whole reason Punk left in the first place is cos he's a whiny little b**** who chucks a hissy fit when he doesn't get his own way.

If the Ultimate Warrior can return, anyone can Pretty much I have never cared for Punk. He was always a decent worker who made it big because he worked the IWC better than anyone in history. That =/= God status imo but w/o If he returns, he returns. If he doesn't, oh well. |
He won't wrestle in a WWE ring again, but he'll probably accept a HOF induction.

Imagine if he came back and beat Lesnar for the title. The marks on this board would die.

CM Punk is kind of to WWE fans what Ray is to Achievement Hunter fans. Been gone for a long time, but fans keep asking if they'd ever come back. Hmm never thought of if that way lol. But what exactly did ray contribute to them though. I always thought he was alright.

I always felt like Ray along with Jack gave a nice subdued personality to counter balance all the off the wall personalities of Michael, Gavin, Geoff and Ryan. On his Twitch streams he's kind of boring by himself. Jeremy lines up more with the zany personalities, but they seem to bring Trevor in a lot more lately and he kind of offers the subdued comedy that Ray did. That said, Jeremy takes part in a lot of other Rooster Teeth activities, like Off-Topic and other podcasts that I don't think Ray would've. I liked Ray when he was there, but I don't miss him terribly.

WWE is interested in people who sell merch and get people talking about the company. CM Punk always did this, therefore CM Punk will always be welcomed back to WWE. I'm sure Vince would even offer him a legends contract if Punk was willing to take it, due to the money he could make off of figures, shirts, putting him in games, and so on. Punk doesn't seem to want it.

I'm sure CM Punk was always welcomed back, but its up to Punk if he'd actually go through with it. He was fired on his wedding day, was pretty misdiagnosed on an injury, and overall lied to by McMahon/HHH. The only reason he'd come back is if his bank account starts getting empty (but he's got name recognition and could go to any wrestling company, hell, he doesn't even have to wrestle, he can be a commentator)

He's either going to tell them to pound sand or go for a part time gig.

He's either going to tell them to pound sand or go for a part time gig. And if he was anybody else as a part timer, the world would complain about it, but because the IWC are in love with him, he'd probably get away with it. Brock Lesnar is a part timer, more so than nearly everybody, he shows up 3 or 4 times a year, feuds with someone for the Universal strap, squashes them, and leaves for 3 or 4 months. It's a big shame Taker retired, he's only 51, he could possibly still have another 4 or 5 years in him. including the big match against Sting that everyone's been asking for for a LONG time.

He can be a pain in the ass, as can many huge legends in the top of the business also were. However, giving someone Z-paks for a staph infection can really result in their DEATH. That's serious s***. I had a staph infection in my spine following a surgical implant this spring...by the time I staggered into the ER 3 weeks after the surgery, my white blood cell count was 30K. Normal is 5K-10K. I was hospitalized for a week after they went back in and removed the device, and had IV antibiotics for six weeks. The infectious disease specialist told me I should have come in sooner, but I hadn't felt sick until that morning. I could barely stand by afternoon. So, if Punk was on the road with a staph infection, and the doctor kept giving him Z-paks, he was endangering Punk's life for real. I believe that's why Punk won his lawsuit (or settled for a lot of money, I forget the official outcome...but either way, he won.)

Of course they're interested. They always will be. ^ This. I really don't get why people try to spin it that WWE hates Punk. He walked out, and outside of a handful of minor jabs (Stephanie's brief shot at his UFC debut, Ryback mocking him in his final WWE match), all the vitriol has been from Punk. There's not really any doubt in my mind that if Punk randomly decided he wanted to come back, WWE would accept him with open arms. |

Are you forgetting that Sting had to retire due to an injury sustained in that WWE Title match with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions a few years ago? Even if Taker were still going, that match is off the table already. |

On the one hand, I'd love to see Punk back in WWE.
On the other hand, I remind myself that WWE is absolute garbage and has been for years and shows no signs of getting better and actually somehow finds new ways to get worse with each passing week and month and I wouldn't want Punk to come back just to be used like s*** by pettiness and incompetence which is about all he has to look forward to. In addition, the whiny ass entitled fans who have just absolutely s*** on this guy for the past 3 or 4 years or whatever it's been because their a******s were sore don't deserve Punk back in WWE (assuming he were used correctly which I don't believe he would be). So, no I'd like him to stick to his original convictions and stay away. Come back for a HOF induction in 10 or 15 years maybe if he wants, but I'd prefer he pursue his other endeavors or interests.

Wouldn't surprise me if Punk came back someday but I feel like it's still several years too soon for him to be willing to. Unless they offer him a stupid amount of money for a Lesnar schedule, that might be enough.

Go back and check the actual dates. phil was fired on the exact same day as nearly a dozen other guys during a spring cleaning. That he happened to have his wedding the next day was nothing more than pure coincidence. |

I think now that Joe is here and a main eventer, possibly the top heel on RAW, Punk would consider.

1. As mentioned, it was spring cleaning day and most likely an accident. Yes, some people in the company probably knew he was getting married that day but did Jane from HR?
2. It's not like Punk was reading his mail that day so unlikely IMO that Punk found out until after
3. And mostly importantly...he wasn't fired! He quit! He suddenly and unexpected walked out mid contract. His release was just a insignificant piece of admin, something that he himself had initiated. I find him overrated and some of his fans too rabid but enjoyed him as a heel when he feuded with Jeff Hardy, that being said WWE has shown they will bend over backwards for part timers at the expense of their current talent and so Punk can negotiate a deal if he cools down enough. He himself has said in interviews "never say never" leaving the door open. Depending on whom they send to negotiate and what deal is worked out it's not impossible. Bret Hart.
