His last nXt run kinda carried over to Raw. The championship fued might have good. who knows...
I think the injury really cooled him off. They had to re-introduce him from the lower half of contention to play it safe. It kinda killed whatever he had.

the guy has a cool intro but a terrible and redundant moveset. He needs to add more mid-match moves to his kit.

I do legit think he is top three worst inring wrestlers on the roster. Along with Enzo and Titus O Neil. He is atrocious. His mic skills suck too and as does the stupid stripper entrance.
But dude is good lookimg and has some charisma so he is over. He is the modern Jeff Hardy.

Jeff Hardy is a very slid wrestler. And Finn had a very good singles match with frickin Roman Reigns as well as Elias and Bray - he's a very good wrestler.

I think people had high hopes for him with The Club and AJ getting signed but of course they did nothing with that and nobody cares about the Balor Club. Whatever the fuck that is.
7/10 for me means it wasn't really bad or really good, but resting somewhere in the middle. -hulkhogan1

He honestly sucks. He's not 'extra' he's just ordinary... and that's a shame, I remember him being a bit better in Japan... A good heel turn and it might make him watchable... but that whole few moves things...and adding nickname to everyone... It's getting on my nerve.

It's not that important. Charisma, connecting with the audience, psychology etc... are all a lot more important than quantity of moves. Finn Balor is just bland and fails at being interesting. For example, what is the point of the demon gimmick? "Demon Finn" has the exact same mannerisms as normal Finn. oh wow he crawled around on the floor during his entrance. he's so great.

Meh. I still personally don't get the Balor hate. Don't get me wrong, he's not exactly Shawn Michaels in the ring, nor is he Roddy Piper on the mic, but he's a good, charismatic worker that absolutely fits in the upper card/ main event scene. I dunno. To each their own, I guess.

He is pretty one note in a WWE ring. He had a much more varied moveset outside of WWE. So in a way you are right, sure. If all I ever knew of Finn Balor was dropkick guy coming up through WWE I would give him less slack. But because he has had fan fucking tastic matches elsewhere and created a cool ads gimmick elsewhere I know he is capable of more. So whine on, TC.

This is what got people when fans talked him up. The paint doesn't do anything. Before it was just cool paint designs he'd wear for big matches. That's all it ever was. Because WWE has supernatural characters, folks thought he was going to be some other character or something. I wish people would stop thinking of it as Undertaker and more like when Rey Mysterio wore a cool costume at Wrestlemania. |

I want to like him but he is boring as fuck to me. Almost none of his NXT matches impressed me much, ditto his WWE run. And even his entrance jumped the shark when he came out in Dallas with a chainsaw minus the chain

Some guys are better as faces (Ambrose, Stone Cold, Sting, etc), some are better as heels (Miz, Wyatt, Owens, Rick Rude, Ted DiBiase, etc). A select few are truly able to pull off both (AJ, Edge, Jake Roberts, etc). I think Finn's better as a face in WWE; making him heel doesn't change the issue with him right now. I like Balor, but the end of his matches are so boring and predictable.... from mid/end match on it's total flowchart: slingblade -> shotgun dropkick -> coup de grace Did coup de grace hit? Pin for win coup de grace miss? Back to slingblade and repeat process Would it kill him to put another move in to break up the sequence every so often?

Move sets get neutered the second anyone steps foot in a WWE ring. You gotta adhere to whatever styles and moves that are approved by WWE officials. The wrestlers have to figure out safe maneuvers and rehearsed routines that will allow them to wrestle at least up to three/four times every week. Who knows what type of leash they have on the performers? >_>

Pretty much every "Indy"guy has to deal with this and I find every one else manages just fine. Neville A guy that's known for his high flying pretty much erased most of those moves when he went heel, and he was still incredibly fun to watch (imo).
I know balors not a bad wrestler but he really does feel robotic as stated above. He just looks like a rock star yet he just seems so damn basic and plain in the ring. With that said most people don't seem to mind(for now at least), so it doesn't matter. |
