Kane vs jand ended with kane beating the Hell outta him, taking his mask and throwing him out of the building. Not a great ending but it still had an ending.

No, he didn't. He was in WWE for another year or two after that. It was Pre-King Booker. Booker's last actual feud before leaving was against Triple H.the briefcase being raised was strongly implied who it was.

The Booker T note was supposed to lead into a feud with Goldust but it was dropped because Goldust's contract expired and WWE chose not to renew it.
