Give up? Never. He'd have to die for him to stop. No telling if Triple H or whoever takes over after Vince wouldn't do the same thing either way though.

Apparently the guy makes bank.

If he hasn't gotten the crowd around to his side by 2025 Vince is seriously gonna consider regretting giving him 11 straight WM main events.
He thinks if he keeps it up, eventually people will give up and start accepting him like they did with Cena.

And it probably will work, actually.

How are you coming to this conclusion? Are they not pushing him as the guy because they're making money?

But Roman makes money. That's why this is happening. If you actually had even the slightest clue what was going on that would be painfully obvious. Do you need me to spell it out for you?

Bro, everyone knows Vince would rather make a dollar his way than a thousand dollars someone else's way. It's like a fossil-old quote.

Nah, sells less merch than any other "the guy" before him, ratings are at an all-time low, gets booed out of the building at both house shows and TV, the guy's a failed project that they would've abandoned at any other point in history. Punk and Bryan both were both objectively more successful business wise.

He still thinks the audience will come around on him (lmao, yeah right.) It's why we'll be seeing Roman have a failed "coronation" every year at Wrestlemania for the next half decade.

That doesn't change the fact that when someone outright doesn't work Vince does abandon the idea. Remember Drew McIntyre's first run? But keep clinking to your delusions that Vince would rather bankrupt himself than admit a pet project failed.

Not sabotaging just choosing his own opinion over anyone else's. He's not running it into the ground but he's also not letting anyone else tell him what he's doing is wrong. Basically he sets the steady course that has no rewards but won't sink them.

Last time Vince probably gave in was giving Bryan that WM30 push and I feel that had more to do with selling the WWE Network than shutting the fans up. If the Network wasn't debuting then Bryan would've had his Sheamus preshow match as planned.

Never
Roman Reigns has been in the main event of three consecutive WrestleManias now. Vince McMahon could easily take him out of the number one position and still argue that he had a fair run as the top guy.

Bret Hart never had three consecutive main events. Nor did Shawn Michaels. Nor did Undertaker. Nor did Randy Savage or Ultimate Warrior. That more or less legitimizes him as the main player of an "era" of sports entertainment and the WWE can use their revisionist history in a few years to act like everybody loved him.

The company saves face. The fans don't have to continue to put up with a star they didn't ask for. We all leave happy.

Nah, just kidding. Vince McMahon's gonna put him in this year's main event too.

Did you miss the "that they would've abandoned at any other point in history" part? I'm not sure if you're being disingenuous or if you're legitimately illiterate, y'know, being a WWE fan and all.

Yeah but it's not like he only wrestles at Wrestlemania. What about all the other times that he's "the guy"? The crowd always hates him. Yet, the train keeps chugging along. Why do you suppose that is?

The difference is that Hulk Hogan was insanely popular. This would be more like if Vince McMahon tried to make Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake the star of the company whether anyone liked it or not.

Vince will give up about 5 minutes after people quit telling him to give up. The second he can claim it's his idea, Roman's done.

Reigns has lost his last 4 PPV matches, he specifically ate the pin at Summerslam because of the "send them home happy" mentality. But the "train keeps chugging along"? Lol okay.

Sure, but they have slowed it down. It's far less "in your face" than it was. It's more just something they say than how they book him.

Hogan back then was a ROCK STAR!!
Everyone clamored for him at ALL times and got CHEERS because he was used in the right way with the right look and RIGHT MUSIC!!
We all saw Hulk Rules shirts everywhere! Ur lucky to see a single piece of Roman merch in the crowd! Hell ur lucky to see a SIGN!!
You can can compare Roman to Lex Luger but NOT Hogan!

Lets not forget this is all likely leading to Reigns winning the title at WM, so these losses feel like a moot point as we know reigns will conquer anyway.
