Former WWE star Rob Conway recently sat down with the hosts of the long-running "Soup and Suplexes" podcast for an extensive interview about his career. During the broadcast, Conway, who is also a two-time NWA World Champion, revealed that a longtime WWE stable may be on their way to the Hall of Fame next year.
"You talk about La Resistance, think about La Resistance, what comes to mind? Probably Sylvain Grenier and myself. We were the team a lot longer than the original version. Hell, when Sylvain and I won the Tag Team titles in Montreal, it received one of the biggest pops of all time. Our version of the group was legendary. The Grenier and Dupree duo didn't even last a year, yet there they are, getting contacted about independent show reunions and Hall of Fame inductions. I think it's unfair to me." At this point, host JoMott asked Conway to elaborate on his Hall of Fame remark. "Yeah, I meant WWE Hall of Fame. Sylvain e-mailed me last month and said WWE wanted La Resistance in the Hall of Fame. I thought he meant all three of us, but then I remembered that I would probably have been contacted. Sylvain confirmed that it was just the incarnation with he and Dupree. He said Pat Patterson called him and said they were among the greatest foreign heels of all time and Vince wanted them in ASAP. I don't know if they were inducted at Summerslam or if they're being saved for WrestleMania, but there you go. La Resistance without Rob Conway are Hall of Famers. La Resistance with Rob Conway are apparently nonexistent." Conway's remarks are the only source of information regarding La Resistance's possible Hall of Fame induction. Our attempts to contact Sylvan Grenier and Rene Dupree have been unsuccessful. However, it has been known for some time that Vince McMahon and Triple H are looking to induct post-Attitude Era talent staring next year, so it's certainly possible that La Resistance are among the names being considered. La Resistance were pretty great and I was highly entertained by them, but inducting them into the Hall of Fame for literally ~1 year of relevancy is madness.

^it's because it was one of those terrible gimmicks that amused the creator......but it actually worked and the character was over pretty big, this despite his shortcomings in the ring
basically a "HA, TOLD YA SO" kind of love for him To his credit, I was always amused by the absurdity of the character and how well Marty Wright played it. Dude played it old-school so he went ALL in with it which made it awesome even though it really had no right to be. |

Loved La Resistance, as I am a Quebecer... but I don't even think they should be in the Hall of Fame.
If they get in, this means stupid groups like the Spirit Squad will probably get in too.

OMG! I had completely forgotten Conway's awful theme song. Here it is. LMAO!!!
Now I'm reminded back when Conway was in WWE, I made a thread, something about Conway's butt, with an odd picture of a close-up of his butt with HHH also in background of the shot licking his lips while looking in that general area, with what appears to be a mutated nipple.
People hated the thread so much for some reason, that I would come in every week just to post a new thread called 'Conway's Butt II', 'Conway's Butt III' etc. and leave, and watch the posts somehow rise to like 150 each time.
