In terms of character... maybe. But for me it doesn't really matter. I like him well enough, and the fact that he's been the most popular face since The Rock and someone that everyone can get behind actually makes me a fan. The whole underdog thing helps, too.

Never said he did anything for ratings. But it's worth noting that he was only the (arguable) top guy for about 6-7 months, and only the champ for 2. Also the stock went way up during that time, but I'll concede that probably means next to nothing for him. As for Jeff, maybe, I didn't watch it much while he was really big. But there's pretty much no one else. Plus a poll I did here had people saying Bryan was more popular at his peak than Jeff, though I think that was done back in 2014.

I love DB. He's fantastic.
That said, there are plenty of amazing wrestlers on the roster that have loads of talent and charisma that the crowd couldn't give two shits about. I don't exactly know what makes everyone love him so damned much, but they sat on their hands when, for example, face Sami Zayn showed up.
Only idoits can't spell.

I love DB. He's fantastic. Booking can wear on fans. Zayn was over for a while, but shitty booking led to people just giving up on him. Same for Owens, Bray, Rusev (until he revived himself with Rusev Day), Ziggler, Cesaro, and many, many others. Fans love guys, but if you constantly book them to job, lose consistently, and otherwise not matter in any sort of midcard, fans will ultimately get bored and give up hope.

He was good yes. But the time he finally managed to win the crowds and people started calling best ever. He was injured alot. Too injury prone to be the best ever. Only really got over because of a chant. Imo even if it is a heel promo Stephanie and HHH were right he's a B+. Which is fine he's great as mid card to upper card he's just not main event.
