The Rock literally played the tooth fairy in one of his early roles......and his first movie "appearance" was a letdown.....then again, Cena doesn't seem like a very good actor, going by his recent movie.....his voice just annoys me.

The Rock started off with the freakin’ Scorpion King and look where he’s at now. No one thought Batista would be successful in Hollywood and he’s in one of Marvel Studios best movie series. Its too early to say anything about Cena just yet.

I think Cena is great at comedy roles but not sure I really want to see him in action movie roles.
I think he'll do ok in Hollywood though.

Difficult.
Cena has been stuck for far too long in a gimmick that doesn't really appeal to adults, the same adults who would buy movie tickets. Probably tired of saying this, but he needs to reinvent himself, but for whatever reason speculated ad nauseum he won't/can't, so unless that changes he'll just be stuck in cringey comedies like Blockers. Batista... I dunno, in 99 other scenarios I could see him being in Hollywood low or mid card, but he really seems to have struck almost unbelievable gold with the Drax role.
GameFAQs, where opinions get moderated as "Flaming" just because some moderator felt hurt by it.

I feel like he'll do okay, but not as good as The Rock or Batista. Plus, like someone else said earlier, his voice does get annoying sometimes. It's like it constantly has a sarcastic undertone to it. I feel like that could limit his roles in some ways too unless he improves on that.

Cena is good he has that goofy big guy thing about him he can be funny and serious when he wants to - if given enough roles and time to dedicate to them he can meet up with the rock eventually

Despite batista's success as drax, i still don't even say he's that good. Yes i do like him as drax, but it's drax. He's playing a character that doesn't need much. The character is part of a team that has had huge success during a time where comic movies for the most part (marvel) is the biggest thing since sliced bread. Not trying to hate, but i just want more dynamic from him.....and yes i'd like him back in wwe (just not like how he was last time)

Dwayne Johnson has shown a pretty good ability to act different characters than The Rock. John Cena seems only capable of being John Cena. Cena needs to suckle at Vince's teat as long as possible, he ain't doing shit as an actor.

Never mind Cena even, can any male actor in Hollywood have a chance of sniffing The Rock's success? There's maybe, MAYBE 3, maybe 4 guys on The Rock's level of drawing power for a male lead in Hollywood. None of them are Cena or Batista. I'm talking about guys that could make a movie today and come out in the near future. Not your Schwarzeneggers or Stallones, I mean now.

Its hard to tell. If you had asked me early in Rock or Batistas film career would they do well I would have sure said no. All he needs is one or two great roles and he could do well for himself.

Sniffing it? I mean, sure, probably. Cena is a charismatic, good looking guy in great shape and built like a tank. Plus he seems dedicated to whatever he is doing. He's not nearly the level of pure charisma as the Rock, but that's a real unfair comparison. Plus Cena can do comedy well, albeit he's been mostly stuck in dorky jokes forever, but I bet he still has it in him.

Cena in Trainwreck and Blockers was already actually more entertaining than The Rock in any of his films but it doesn't really matter because the guy just makes money hand over fist for everything he touches.
Barely anyone in Hollywood ever reaches that level, never mind another wrestler.

Cena is great in comedy roles, I don’t know if I can buy him in action roles as easily as The Rock though.

Bruce Willis is not even on the B-List at this point and Cruise can only do well with Mission Impossible films. Replace them with Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks and you would be much closer. |

Batista is great in small doses, but absolutely cannot carry a film solo. All of his notable roles are that of sidekick, side show, or bit pieces.

Rock. Cena might do perfectly fine, but the Rock is near the top of Hollywood. That’s a pretty high bar.
