WWE should stand up for their women and say they're not coming to your country if women aren't allowed to compete.
In most of the developed world, a little girl can grow up and be anything she wants. She doesn't have to be just a homemaker for her husband and caregiver to his children. She can be anything she wants in the 21st century, right? . |
Thanks for telling me. I wasn’t aware.

Yeah well clearly that’s not going to happen and no one, not even Stephanie is being vocal about having a problem with it anyway. Not saying I agree with saudis laws or whatever but apparently it’s not an issue to Vince or even Steph. |

The Saudi leadership are paying WWE for a service. WWE are not the moral arbiters of society let alone a foreign nation and neither is a nobody like you. I actually envy the WWE fans in Saudi getting to see a full show without the women 'wrestlers'. They are awful. Also you're extremely patronising to homemakers and mother's. They aren't 'just' being a homemaker or a caregiver FFS THEY ARE RAISING A FAMILY AND CULTIVATING A COMMUNITY. It's probably the most important 'job' on the planet and shouldn't be so easily dismissed for 'girl power' and modern western woman's obsession with behaving like a man. |

This is going to ruffle some feathers, but I am actually ok with them not being on the show. They already receive a disproportionate amount of screen time anyways. Yes including them is a step forward in gender equality (the opposite of equality in this case) and development of the wrestling division, but it also results in a dip in quality waaaay more often than not.

Saudi Arabia for the longest time thought movies were a sin and didn't have movie theaters until recently....they really have no care for entertainment media so why would they care about this? Progress isn’t only what people these days have made every one think it is.

Exactly. Plus if we are saying you should never trade or do business with a country that oppresses a a certain type of person within their country , American never would have grown.
Signature, What's that?

I hate it when people and women in particular demean their natural role on this Earth as something trivial or equate it to servitude. It's pro creation, it happens to be very very important to the existence of our species and a women's role in the community builds our social structures. This shit is pretty damn important. |

This is a very good point. Just because their steps don't match yours doesn't mean they aren't moving forward. It's like exposure therapy for people with neuroses, ocd, or a phobia of some kind. You have to let them get near the thing before you make them touch it, and you have to allow them to approach this on their terms. They're showing the willingness to move forward culturally, and are taking steps to do so. What kind of message does it send to shove them over and say you deserve nothing because you haven't progressed fast enough?
This is the water, and this is the well.
