I guess I could see there being some truth to this. But assuming this is accurate, this just further feeds into the underlying reason why the core audience is so hostile towards WWE in the first place -- WWE legit hates their own core audience. The audience has become increasingly hostile towards WWE BECAUSE WWE hates them and antagonizes them and takes shots at them any chance they get.
Any rational company would go "We've lost touch with our core audience, we should try to better understand what they want and how to deliver that to them". But WWE? Their response is "Fuck you! You don't know shit! What's that? You dislike Roman? Hah! Fuck you, Roman is going to beat EVERYONE now, he's going to headline the next ten WMs, and he's going to be the first ever 30 time world champion! How do you like that, shitheads?!". It's so bizarre, because I can't think of any other company that so clearly dislikes its own core audience and antagonizes them time and time again, and manages to get away with it. It's such a ludicrous way to run a business. |
