2007:
- Cody Rhodes Vs Randy Orton - Raw 16/07/2007 - Cody’s debut WWE match against future tag team partner, and future potential best feuder.
- Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly Vs Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch - Raw 10/12/2007 - Cody’s first WWE Championship win.
2008:
- Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Vs Hardcore Holly – Night of Champions 2008 - After a lacklustre face run in WWE, Cody would finally turn heel and align himself with second generation star Ted Dibiase and win championship gold.
2009:
- Legacy Vs Batista, Triple H & Shane McMahon – Backlash 2009 – 3 ½* - If you watched WWE in 2009, you knew that besides John Cena or Triple H, that Legacy were running rough shot over Monday Night Raw. Legacy was based on second and third generation stars. This is Cody’s first WWE Championship match on a PPV, which involved 5 other stars, the only way to win the championship was for any men from either team to gain a pinfall.
- Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Vs D-Generation X – Summerslam 2009 – 3 ½* - In mid-2009 after nearly more than a year of feuding with Legacy, Triple H needed back up – so he recruited his bestfriend Shawn Michaels to reform D-Generation X to help him fight legacy. This feud had three really good PPV matches with each other.
- Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Vs D-Generation X – Hell in a Cell 2009 – 3 ¾* - This was the final match in the DX/Legacy trilogy of matches, and it’s just a really great match. They take elements from their previous two matches and they make it top notch and improve things that lacked. This is the decider between the two teams, they were sudden death up to this point, highly recommend.
2010:
- Cody Rhodes Vs Ted DiBiase Vs Randy Orton – Wrestlemania 26 - This was the culmination of the Legacy team feud, for some strange reason out of all people Orton was the one to turn face against the members after they had screwed Orton out of the title picture either on purpose or accidentally. All three men put on a decent match with each other in a rather forgotten Wrestlemania.
2011:
- Cody Rhodes Vs Rey Mysterio - Smackdown 21/01/2011 – This match lead to the birth of Cody Rhode’s anti-Dashing character. Someone who thought they were ugly and reduced to wearing face masks to restore structure of his face.
- Cody Rhodes Vs Rey Mysterio – Wrestlemania 27 - Arguably the best match at Wrestlemania that year, it is one of Cody Rhodes best matches period, and one of the last matches in Rey Mysterio’s WWE career that stands out as really good.
- Cody Rhodes Vs Randy Orton – Smackdown 04/11/2011 – 3 ¾* - If I’m being honest in 2011 I really lacked watching Smackdown because I thought Raw was the predominant shows for developing stories, however I had heard news of Orton cutting up Cody with a ring bell and I had to watch this match. It’s an easy contender for Smackdown match of the year. It really helps the Orton/Rhodes storyline, which I believed could’ve had Rhodes get at least one clean victory over Orton – spoilers this never happened.
2012:
- Cody Rhodes Vs The Miz Vs Rey Mysterio Vs Sin Cara – Night of Champions 2012 – 3 ¼* - Many people looked over this match when they think of great matches in 2012, it’s a pretty decent match between 4 great mid-carders.
2013:
- Cody Rhodes Vs Cesaro Vs Damien Sandow Vs Dean Ambrose Vs Fandango Vs Jack Swagger Vs Wade Barrett - Money in the Bank 2013 - 3 ¾ - Cody Rhodes had yet another tag team partner in 2013 by the name of Damien Sandown who were known as the ‘Rhode Scholars’. Many people who watched this match really believed that Rhodes was about to become a future World Heavyweight Champion. Hell, I believed he would grab the briefcase and become a future champion, however that didn’t happen. Before reaching the Money in the Bank briefcase his partner Sandow pushes him off and reaches it for himself.
- Cody Rhodes Vs Randy Orton – Raw 02/09/2013 - This may also be one of my favourite little gems in recent years for Monday Night Raw. The stipulation was if Cody didn’t win he would be fired from WWE. Two former members of Legacy battling it out with each other, and every time they stepped in the ring with each other it was magic. Personally wish Meltzer didn’t rate their matches together so harshly.
- Cody Rhodes & Goldust Vs Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins – Battleground 2013 – 3 ½* - This match may have only got a 3 ½ rating from Meltzer; but honestly it’s the match of the night and really should be rated much higher. This match would be more appropriate for a Cody Rhodes/Goldust list – but both teams work together and are fantastic.*
- Cody Rhodes & Goldust Vs Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins - Raw 14/10/2013 – 4* - The following week on Raw they would have a rematch although this time it was for the WWE Tag Team Championships and they put on an equally great match compared to Battleground.
- Cody Rhodes & Goldust Vs Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins Vs The Uso’s – Hell in a Cell 2013 – 4* - The Shield were on a complete role in 2013 and these consecutive matches between them and the Uso’s and the Brothers just helped further establish them as one of the best teams of all time. Heaps of people remember the Battleground match because of the story behind it, but this match is equally as great as that match. The three teams mix well with each other, and that’s not hard to see looking at the rankings of all their matches with each other. During Cody and Goldust’s 2013 run they were totally reinvented and were continuously stealing the show every time they were on screen.
- CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, Goldust & The Uso's Vs The Wyatt Family & The Shield - Raw 18/11/2013 - 3 ¾* - Really fun 12 man match leading into Survivor Series 2013, highly recommend for a fun rewatch as well as it pre-shadows the future Wyatt/Shield matches.
2014:
- Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. The New Age Outlaws - Raw 03/02/2014 – At the start of 2014 The Rhodes Brothers started a feud with the New Age Outlaws in very fun feud for the WWE Tag Team Championships. It came to an end in a Steel Cage Match on Monday Night Raw. This match involves a spectacular Moonsault spot from Cody Rhodes from the top of the cage.
- Stardust & Goldust Vs RybAxel - Raw 16/06/2014 - This would be birth of Cody’s ‘Stardust’ Gimmick, which would show some of the same traits of his brother Goldust. It seemed to revolutionise Cody as a wrestler and hopefully gave him the pay off of a Brother Vs Brother match at Wrestlemania.. this didn’t happen.
2015:
- Stardust Vs Goldust – Fastlane 2015 - At the start of 2015, the two brothers were inserted into a pretty rushed feud which really could’ve happened at Wrestlemania that year for some pay off, instead of a pre-Wrestlemania PPV. However, the match has a lot of faults in it, it’s pretty boring to get through and the ending is pretty poor as well. They wouldn’t even have a rematch, nor continue the feud after the match.
- Stardust & King Barrett Vs Neville & Stephen Amell – Summerslam 2015 - After months of build up of Stephen Amell from The CW’S ‘Aarow’ with Stardust it finally lead to a match at one of the biggest PPV’s – Summerslam. The match was surprisingly really well done and a rare instance of an actor-turned-wrestler turning out successfully. Apparently this match was meant to lead to a potential Hell in a Cell match and somehow would revert Stardust back into Cody Rhodes – this didn’t come to fruition.
2016:
- Stardust Vs Sami Zayn – WWE Network Special: Roadblock 2016 - Another forgotten match from 2016, people seemed to be very negative about this match, however I really enjoyed it and thought both men worked well with each other.
- Stardust Vs The Miz Vs Zack Ryder Vs Dolph Ziggler Vs Kevin Owens Vs Sami Zayn Vs Sin Cara - Wrestlemania 32 - 4 ¼* - 7 of WWE’s top mid-card guys going at it, at the ‘biggest’ Wrestlemania of all time. A lot of people consider this one of the only good matches from this Wrestlemania. This match is really fun and allows all participants in the match to get their shots in. This would be the last time that Cody Rhodes would feature on a WWE pay-per-view.
- Cody Rhodes Vs Zack Sabre Jr - Evolve #66
- Cody Vs Jay Lethal – ROH Final Battle 2016 (Start at 3:05) – 3 ¼* - Cody Rhodes made his Ring of Honor debut just under a month ago and was placed in a match against former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal in a really fun match. The ending was shocking and really surprising, highly recommend.
2017:
- Cody Vs Juice Robinson – NJPW Wrestlekingdom 11 - This was the most recent match for Cody Rhodes which I felt like I could include on this list. People seem to be very 50/50 about this match especially Cody’s performance. It was a fine match, and Cody is still trying to find his stride post-WWE, I think within a year if he stays post-WWE he’ll become one of the biggest talents.
