1998:
- Christian Vs TAKA Michinoku – Judgment Day 1998 – 3* – This was Christians first PPV match and it was for the 'illustrious' WWF Light Heavyweight Championship.
1999:
- Christian & Edge Vs Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy – No Mercy 1999 – 4 ½* - One of the earliest tag-team ladder matches in WWF, a lot of people forget about this match being the precursor to those Ladder/TLC Matches with each other plus the Dudley’s in the future. It’s a really good match which helped in the careers in all four men.
2000:
- Christian & Edge Vs Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy Vs Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley – Wrestlemania 2000 – 4* - These men set the standard for all ladder matches. This would be the first clash together in a 3-team ladder match but not their last.
- Christian & Edge Vs Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy Vs Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley – Summerslam 2000 – 4 ½* - Remember earlier when I said that these six men set the standard for the ladder match? Well these guys now set the standard for a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match as well. Brutal, fast paced with well timed-spots very fun match. This was just a tease of what we could see with these 6 competitors.
- Christian & Edge Vs Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy – Unforgiven 2000 – 3 ½* - I know everyone talks about their ladder matches encounters with each other; but this is a very underrated steel cage match with all four men.
2001:
- Christian & Edge Vs Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy Vs Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley – Wrestlemania 17 – 4 ¾* - We’re back again with these six men, and you might think by this time it’s the same old thing, they can’t top what they did last time. But that’s what they did. They topped it yet again. This is my favourite match from this Wrestlemania; it’s just so brutal and fun to watch. Arguably a 5-star match to a lot of people and it really helps that its on one of the best PPV’s of all time.
- Christian Vs Matt Hardy Vs Eddie Guerrero – Backlash 2001 – 2 ¾* - Three of the top mid-carders at the time striving to be the best in a decent triple threat match.
- Christian Vs Edge – No Mercy 2001 – 3 ¾* - Two former best friends (or brothers at the time) were competing for the Intercontinental Championship match. This was a match everyone was excited to see, they wanted to see how these two men would go in single runs. Much like all the other ladder matches involving these men, they are instant classics.
2002:
2003:
- Christian Vs Chris Jericho - Raw 01/09/2003 – Christian & Chris Jericho were some of the best things going on, on Raw in 2003, but it seemed like Jericho was transition into a face role so Stone Cold put him against his partner at the time Christian for the Intercontinental Championship. It wouldn’t be a long ‘face’ turn for Jericho cause as weeks passed he would revert back to being a heel along with Christian. But this is a super underrated match in both mens careers.
- Christian, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, Randy Orton & Scott Steiner Vs Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Rob Van Dam & Shawn Michaels - Survivor Series 2003 - 4 ¼* - I really do love this match, and it’s a shame that it’s never talked about. Essentially the stipulation for this match was that if Austin’s team lost he would be fired as Raw General Manager. You really wanted the team of Jericho & Christian to finally get their comeuppance, after all they’ve done to Stone Cold throughout the year. Shawn Michaels’ ability to get you on the edge of your seat and to root for him and overcome the odds plays a huge factor in this match. The final 10 minutes of this match are honestly some of my favourite moments as a wrestling fan.
2004:
- Christian Vs Chris Jericho – Wrestlemania 20 – 3 ½* - Christian is just such a natural heel it’s perfect, the lead up to this match featured him: trying to steal Chris Jericho’s crush – Trish Stratus, attacking Trish and then attacked his over two year tag-team partner Chris Jericho. The match is actually really good between them, they work really great with each other inside the ring, and the ending will leave you speechless.
- Christian Vs Chris Jericho – Raw 10/05/2004 – 4* - Following their Wrestlemania match, these two would have a few more matches which lead into a Steel Cage match on an episode of Raw. It was a way to write Christian off TV for a while because of an injured back. He would return in September and continue his feud with Jericho which finished in a Ladder match at Unforgiven 2004.
2005:
- Christian Vs Kane Vs Shelton Benjamin Vs Chris Jericho Vs Chris Benoit Vs Edge - Wrestlemania 21 - 4 ½* - This match is fairly Significant as it is the first Money in the Bank match in WWE history, which featured 6 of Raws best mid-card talent at the time.
- Christian Vs Chris Jericho Vs John Cena – Vengeance 2005 – 3 ¾* - At the start of 2005 it seemed WWE were looking to set the seeds for a feud with Christian & Cena when they interacted on the dual brand show of Royal Rumble. However, those plans sort of went through the door when it was believed at the time that WWE officials didn’t have faith in Christian in a solo WWE main event feud, so Jericho was involved in the match as well.
- Christian Vs Rey Mysterio Vs Hardcore Holly Vs John Bradshaw Layfield Vs Matt Hardy - Smackdown 28/10/2005 – This would be one of Christian’s last matches in WWE before leaving and going to TNA.
2006:
- Christian Cage Vs Jeff Jarrett – TNA Against All Odds 2006 – 3 ¼* - Christian would be one of TNA’s first big steals from WWE. He moved to TNA in late 2005 because he thought he wasn’t getting utilised correctly in WWE, and within 6 months of jumping ships to TNA he would become their World Champion and help them establish themselves as the second-biggest Wrestling company in America, even the world at that point.
2007:
- Christian Cage Vs Samoa Joe – TNA Destination X 2007 – 4* - As I said back when I made the AJ Styles & Kurt Angle essential match lists, I have very little knowledge of TNA, I rarely watched unless something big happened or I was recommended to watch something so there will be a lack of comments on most TNA matches. However, this was one of those matches I was recommended to watch a couple of years ago and in making this list I went back to rewatch it and it’s still as good as I remembered. They have great chemistry with each other, it’s sad that Christian isn’t wrestling anymore because I think him and Joe would have a great match in WWE.
2008:
2009:
- Christian Vs Jack Swagger – ECW 23/02/2009 – 3 ½* - In late 2008 news started circling that Christian had ‘re-signed’ with WWE and would be placed in a feud with Jeff Hardy (who was in the midst of a WWE Championship reign/program) however when the news broke WWE changed plans and had Christian head down to ECW to feud for the ECW Championship, and had Jeff go into a feud with his brother Matt. However, its still good that WWE had Christian go straight into the ECW Championship picture especially since it’s believed backstage that Vince McMahon doesn’t like Christian, and ever more doesn’t like his face. In his first run I believe there was a rumour that Vince had an idea to put a blue dot over Christians face whenever he was on screen.
- Christian Vs Jack Swagger – Backlash 2009 – 3 ½* - Christian would finally win the ECW Championship against Jack Swagger and hold the title for a short while.
- Christian Vs Tyson Kidd – ECW 02/06/2009 – 3 ¾*
- Christian Vs William Regal – Breaking Point 2009 – 3 ¼* - A great match between two good wrestlers in a very stellar show. They would have several matches in ECW in 2009 but this would be their best match together.
- Christian Vs Shelton Benjamin – TLC 2009 – 4 ¼* - A great ladder match between two of ECW’s biggest stars. This match is super underrated and I recommend anyone reading these lists and rewatching matches watch this match and see how good it is.
2010:
- Christian Vs Ezekiel Jackson - ECW 16/02/2010 – This would be the last ever ECW show in WWE’s branding of it, the final match would be between Christian vs Ezekiel Jackson in an Extreme Rules Match for the ECW Championship. It makes no sense to me why they decided to make Christian lose the ECW Championship especially if they were just going to have Jackson do nothing but have a forgettable Intercontinental Championship reign and join the CORRE and be meaningless.
- Christian Vs Edge – Raw 17/05/2010 – Another forgotten classic by two best-friends. These two could’ve had magic in a feud around this time, however they were on different brands doing different things. However, in 2011 (depending on who you believe) it was said that Christian and Edge would feud and that Christian would be the one to retire Edge when his contract ran out.
2011:
- Christian Vs Alberto Del Rio – Extreme Rules 2011 – 4 ¼* - With Edge, Christians real life bestfriend retiring from WWE due to injury, WWE officials decided to give Christian his ‘career-rewarding’ moment, by having him in a main event match against Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship.
- Christian Vs Randy Orton – Over the Limit 2011 – 4 ¼* - Christians career-rewarding World Championship reigned a total of 2 days (5 because it was taped). I was somewhat fine with this, IF they were going to keep Christian a face, and probably make Orton the heel. Nevertheless, that’s my opinion but you guys might not agree. I will say Christian and Orton had a great feud in 2011, I know people will say that Punk feud/storyline was the best of 2011, but I’d even argue that Christians 2011 was a close runner up.
- Christian Vs Randy Orton – Summerslam 2011 – 4* - These two would fight throughout mid-2011, with Christian turning heel and re-winning the World Heavyweight Championship at the previous PPV. This match was actually really good, and their whole feud is quite good. Now that sound hypocritical because earlier I said that Orton should’ve been the heel in this feud, but I believe Christian being the chicken-shit heel, who constantly wanted rematches for the World Heavyweight Championship was a perfect role for him. I will still argue to this day that this match was much more enjoyable then the rematch of the famous 5 star Money in the Bank match between Cena and Punk which happens on the same card.
2012:
2013:
- Christian Vs Randy Orton Vs CM Punk Vs Daniel Bryan Vs Rob Van Dam Vs Sheamus – Money in the Bank 2013 – 4 ½* - Christian returned periodically in 2013 and was inserted in main-event scenes, he would be placed in an All Star Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
- Christian Vs Alberto Del Rio – Summerslam 2013 – 3 ½* - Christian won a triple threat match against Orton & Rob Van Dam a few week prior to this. This match was actually really good, it’s one of those matches that are really good but because the card is considered great (it also features two 4 ½ start matches – Lesnar/Punk and Cena/Bryan) that it’s somewhat forgotten. I would say that this is Christians last great singles match before he would retire from WWE.*
2014:
- Christian Vs Randy Orton Vs Cesaro Vs Daniel Bryan Vs John Cena Vs Sheamus – Elimination Chamber 2014 – 3 ¾* - I'll be honest with you, there's been many Elimination Chamber matches, some good and some bad, in the modern era of WWE most have been pretty 'eh' to say the least, but this one gives it some redeeming points. It’s good to see Christian with his final years as an in-ring competitor saw him competing with the top stars and in the main event matches.
- Christian Vs Alberto Del Rio Vs Dolph Ziggler Vs Sheamus - Raw 24/03/2014 – I believe this was a number one contender match for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship which Christian actually won. But due to concussions, this would be Christians last match ever. Christians in-ring career may be over, there was no big send-off like his best friend Edge, but I think we can all look back at his career and be happy it turned out the way it did. Classic tag team with his best-friend, Edge, then working with fellow Canadian Chris Jericho, than the jump to TNA becoming one of the biggest reasons that TNA became more popular, back to WWE to become ECW Champion, followed by finally becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. I mean people will complain he was never used to his full capacity, but I still think he had a great overall career.
