I don't often agree with Dogshit Dave Meltzer but he's absolutely right here. There's no way WWE and its fans can claim to be in favour of not treating women as second class citizens designed to serve men and yet sing the praises of the war crime committing, misogynistic, theocratic dictatorship in Saudi Arabia. It's simply incompatible. As far as I'm concerned, it's a binary choice. Just because WWE associates with Saudi Arabia doesn't mean that they don't promote and / or empower women elsewhere. It's very obvious that they do at least try to, with the increasing relevance of the Women's Division and such. I mean you can argue their motives being profit-driven all day long, but the fact of the matter is, they're still doing it and the end result is the same. Would you rather WWE just did not promote their women at all?  Furthermore, this is kind of a logical fallacy. By this logic, does this mean the US or any other country for that matter, shouldn't be able to be allies with a different country that does not grant women all of the rights that they have here? If we are allies with such a country, does that mean we don't care about women? The fact of WWE's even showing up in Saudi Arabia is probably helping to push them in a more progressive direction, even if not very significantly. Sign here.
