2004:
- Batista, Randy Orton & Ric Flair Vs The Rock & Mick Foley – Wrestlemania 20 – 3 ¾* - This may have been Rock’s last Wrestlemania match for close to 7 years, but it would be the Batistas first Wrestlemania in the company. He got to tag with two of the greatest wrestlers of all time against two of the greatest wrestlers from the Attitude Era.
- Batista, Randy Orton & Ric Flair Vs Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho & Edge - Raw 02/08/2004 – 4 ¼* - Most of the early Batista matches on this list will feature multi-man tag matches, and most of them are pretty decent but this is probably my favourite. I highly recommend everyone watches this match it’s fast-paced and very good between all 6 talented workers.
2005:
- Batista Vs Triple H Vs Chris Benoit Vs Chris Jericho Vs Edge Vs Randy Orton - New Years Revolution 2005 - 4 ¼* - The big story going into this match was would Batista be loyal to his fellow Evolution member Triple H, or would he break off on his own and try capture the World Heavyweight championship. This would be also be a another hint of a Batista/Evolution split. Bonus information: Shawn Michaels who had problems with everyone in this match would be special guest referee.
- Batista Vs Triple H – Vengeance 2005 – 4 ½* - This was the final in the trilogy between Batista and Triple H, and this time it was done in ‘the Devil’s favourite playground’ the Hell in a Cell. Bloody match, very underrated and rarely talked about when the conversation of best Hell in a Cell Matches is brought up.
2006:
- Batista Vs Bobby Lashley Vs Finlay Vs King Booker - No Mercy 2006 - 3 ½* - Smackdown in 2006 was overall pretty poor except for a few parts, they didn’t have much made stars and most main event talents weren’t doing much, except King Booker who was killing his new role. But this is easily one of the best Smackdown main events from that year, it’s a really decent match.
2007:
- Batista Vs The Undertaker – Wrestlemania 23 – 4* - This was Takers year, he had won the 2007 Royal Rumble, he put on two great tag matches with Shawn, Cena and Batista and then he started his great feud with Batista. This was only the first chapter in their feud and if you keep reading this list you’ll see how good these matches were. This was also Undertaker’s first World Championship win in almost 5 years, making it extra special. This was absolutely my match of the night at Wrestlemania 23, I believe it should have main evented. There’s rumors that after the match finished Batista walked backstage and screamed ‘Follow that’ in frustration of not being the main event.
- Batista Vs The Undertaker – Backlash 2007 – 4* - What a rematch, absolutely took it to a new level it was brutal and hard hitting. The draw finish only leads to another great match in their series.
- Batista Vs Edge – One Night Stand 2007 – 3 ½* - After Taker got injured and Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank on him, Batista was placed into a feud with Edge. This may be my favourite of all the Edge/Batista matches – one of the funnest Steel Cage matches from this era, really like the ending of Edge stealing another victory against Batista.
- Batista Vs Undertaker – Survivor Series 2007 – 4* - This match was set up to be the final encounter between each men who had been battling for the better part of a year as both men had 1 individual clean win over each other. However the ending this match would set up/continue another feud with Edge & Undertaker – it did allow Batista to be the ultimate winner of their feud as he has one more victory than him. It’s also easy to see that Batistas best feud is with The Undertaker.
2008:
- Batista Vs John Cena – Summerslam 2008 – 3 ¾* - The two ‘made men’ of WWE in 2005, were finally going to square off in a WWE ring against each other one on one. This is a hard-hitting match and just goes to show the great chemistry these two had against each other. Also call me a sucker for Face Vs Face matches, this was such a big time feel match for the Raw brand that it made the Raw World Heavyweight Championship play second fiddle to it. This match is fairly under looked and quite underrated when people bring up the careers of these two men.
2009:
- Batista Vs Undertaker Vs CM Punk Vs Rey Mysterio - Bragging Rights 2009 – 3* - One of my fatal four way matches of all time, it’s simply and straight to the point, and involves four of the biggest Smackdown names at the time. Good chemistry with all these men, and also is Batista’s first heel turn since becoming a face at the start of 2005.
2010:
- Batista Vs John Cena – Wrestlemania 26 – 3 ½* - Five years after each man won their world championships at Wrestlemania 21, they’d finally meet in one of the main events of a Wrestlemania in a decent match, however I believe it was doomed from the start with the winner being very predictable.
- Batista Vs John Cena – Extreme Rules 2010 – 4 ¼* - Arguably the best match in these history, really fun match and super goofy but decent ending to this match.
- Batista Vs John Cena – Over the Limit 2010 – 3 ½* - This would be Batista’s last match in WWE for 4 years as he would seek acting roles for movies and television and also getting into Mixed Martial Arts.
2014:
- Batista Vs Randy Orton Vs Daniel Bryan – Wrestlemania 30 - 4 ½* - The saga of Daniel Bryan's chase to become the WWE Champion would pay off in this match, and oh boy - those months of getting angry, seeing the Authority always win and complaining online absolutely worth it for this moment. Batista who returned and won the Royal Rumble match wasn’t looked fondly on by the crowd, but WWE came to their senses and helped make this Wrestlemania main event one of the most memorable ones of all time.
- Batista, Randy Orton, Triple H Vs Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose – Extreme Rules 2014 – 4 ½* - Two of the most famous WWE groups with 6 great wrestlers going at it all at the same time – a good way to show the Past Vs the Future. They would also go on to face them at the following PPV, Payback and it really showed Evolution passing the torch to The Shield.
- Batista, Randy Orton, Triple H Vs Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose – Payback 2014 – 4* - This would be Batista’s last match in WWE for now, hopefully we’ll see him in the future some time. But honestly, he was really disrespected on this night. Reason for that being was because he wore a bright blue attire which got the crowd and the audience to ridicule him as ‘Blue-tista’. But onto a better note, just like the previous PPV, Batista (with the rest of Evolution) would put The Shield over by making them look so dominant defeating all three members of Evolution and no members of Shield being eliminated.
Honourable Mentions:
- Batista Vs Goldberg – Raw 10/12/2003 – This match in 2016 would probably be a big main event with lots of hype, however in 2003 Batista was basically a nobody and people were somewhat not impressed with Goldberg. But atleast this match has happened and it’s not a big ‘What if?’ match.
- 30 Man Royal Rumble Match – Royal Rumble 2005 - WWE knew that they had gold with Batista in 2005, and especially when he won this Rumble match and entered the main event of Wrestlemania picture he was skyrocketed to the mainstream.
- Batista Vs Triple H – Wrestlemania 21 - This match was meant to shoeline Batista as the #1 WWE Superstar for years to come, and for the first couple of months it absolutely did that. This match was months in the making and it payed off greatly, two former evolution members going against each other one on one in the main event of Wrestlemania.
- Batista Vs Eddie Guerrero - No Mercy 2005 - Before Guerrero passed away, he was entering a feud with Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship, actually his last PPV he main evented for the championship on his birthday. Very nice and fitting, good matches that helped establish Batista as an even bigger star.
- Batista Vs Mr Kennedy - The Great American Bash 2006 - This was Batistas first match since returning from an injury in January 2006, he was originally scheduled to face Mark Henry at this PPV, however he got injured the week beforehand.
- Batista Vs The Undertaker - Smackdown 11/05/2007 - This was Taker’s last match before going away for a few months to recover from an injury, but this takes nothing away from it, its still one of the best matches from Smackdown that year.
- Batista Vs The Great Khali – No Mercy 2007 - I don’t care what anyone says as a kid the Punjabi Prison match made me so hyped and I loved seeing this match.
- Batista Vs Umaga – Wrestlemania 24 - You know Batista was in the world title picture from March 2005 all the way until December 2007 that’s almost 3 years, so it was nice to see him out of the title picture. People believed that Batista was getting a demotion at this Wrestlemania, however honestly if you watch Batista’s entrance he looks like the happiest person on Earth when he comes out screaming about Wrestlemania.
- Batista Vs Randy Orton – Armageddon 2008 - Much like that Summerslam 2008 match with Cena, this match is very under-looked and never really spoken about on this sub and by WWE in general. This is their first encounter on PPV, in one on one fashion and it’s actually a really decent match and I hope people look back on this match and appreciate it.
- 30 Man Royal Rumble Match – Royal Rumble 2014 - Batista made his infamous return in 2014 after it got leaked he was returning in late 2013. His first match back was in the Royal Rumble which everyone believed Daniel Bryan would win and be in the main event of Wrestlemania – that did not happen. When the crowd realised that Daniel Bryan wasn’t going to win and hell wasn’t even going to be in the match they absolutely hated it and boo’d Batista out the building. Batista, much like Roman Reigns was the right guy, and the wrong time and place in my opinion. I believe this really hurt Batistas 2014 run and he’s gone on record to say he didn’t like his 6 month run.
- Batista Vs Dolph Ziggler – Smackdown 23/05/2014 - Ziggler now being a face would stick up for himself (and wrestlers of his size) at the start of 2014 when he was placed in a match against Batista on Smackdown. Very fun match; good to see Batista not just fighting ‘main-event’ stars but also stars that could get a rub from him.
