Stumbled upon it tonight and I've learned a lot of fun facts:

- the following were filmed at Vince McMahon's home : all of the "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" episodes regardless of wrestler, all of the Mr. Perfect vignettes ad well as Ted Diabiase's various skits, Sunny's first photoshoot.

-"The Rock" character was modeled after Deion Sanders

- Vince and Bruce personally visited Ron Simmons at his home to negotiate a contract when he was brought in as Farooq. They ran into, and hung out with, The Four Horsemen at a gym. They were working out with Kevin Greene.

-Roddy Piper was supposed to shoot fight OJ Simpson at WM 12, instead of fighting Goldust.

-Taker still trolls Bruce for putting him against the Giant Gonzalez at WM

-Kurt Angle was initially turned down because it was believed that no one could realistically go over him.

-Cena has been a class act since his development days; never late, never missed a show. This is why he is pushed like he is.

-Brawl for All was originally designed to shut up JBL. He would proclaim to be the baddest dude in the locker room

-Stone Cold quit because he didn't want to job to Lesnar without a story to it. He would've done the job had it been properly built up. He wasn't feeling that tournament shit. You guys likely knew that doe

-Dutch Mantel is responsible for both Kane and The Undertaker coming to the WWE.

-Roddy squashed his beef with Mr T after seeing his hall of fame speech

I would've loved to see the plot buildup between Piper and OJ. Would they have actually referenced the murders? Knowing Piper probably yes.
Casino regulars are the only people in the world who will spend several hundred dollars of real money to try to win $50 in casino cash.
Remember how Piper/Goldust used the white Bronco parody?

I wonder if that was originally meant to be used for OJ himself.

That's some serious pre-Attitude era tastelessness.

I don't listen to the podcast, but just within the last week, a lot of the segments that were uploaded to YouTube were recommended to me, and I've been flying through them. Every single one has been entertaining as hell.

I listen to the podcast every week, and I like it a lot, but there's a few things that irks me about it.

One is that Bruce still explains things, things that happened over 20-25 years ago in some cases, like he still works for WWE, and is covering his ass, as opposed to just letting it all hang out. In some cases it's to not bury the people involved, as I'm sure he still remains friends with many that he worked with back then, but in other cases, he'll pussyfoot around answers as to not make people, or himself, look bad.

Conversely, the other thing that really bothers me is when Conrad calls bullshit on things Bruce says, because Meltzner or Wade Keller reported it a different way. It's almost like Conrad believes the guys who heard they story 3rd or 4th hand over the guy that was actually in the room when it happened.

But then I remember it's a podcast about wrestling, and everything in wrestling is a work, so I just realize I'm probably being worked, and this is just their shtick.

However Kurt Angle was initially turned down because it was believed that no one could realistically go over him

No, Kurt believed since he was a gold medalist that he could never lose

The way you wrote it seems like Kurt wanted in but Vince and company thought he couldnt lose.

Yeah, you're right.. Kurt didn't wanna lose.

Also, another good one is when they were brokering the deal for Shamrock, Bruce is on the phone with the New Japan recruiter guy, also trying to get Shamrock, who was using really broken English. He gets another call and clicks over; It's Bischoff . He says the guy clicks back over to say "hold one more time" but fails to click back over and starts talking perfect English saying "Eric, go ahead and send the paper work" or something like that. Bruce says "it's me and this isn't gonna work out". Awesome

I literally listened that that this morning as I was getting ready for work. Loved it.

Last night, I listened to two Piper stories. Thought these were both really good:

Interesting that you mention that. Dave Meltzer was asked about a specific instance that Prichard claimed he was lying and Meltzer flat out said that that particular bit of information that he was releasing was told to him by Prichard himself.

As with anything Meltzner says, you can either believe him and his sources, or you can believe the people he's calling out. Prichard definitely plays a lot of "cover your ass" when it comes to explaining decisions WWE made, so that doesn't help him.
About the cover your ass thing, you have to understand one of the first things they drill in your head in wrestling training is heat, and how easy it is for heat to get outta hand and ruin your career.

So maybe prichard has nothing to worry about now that he is a 30 year vet but its still natural to do so. And he also may be protecting other talent at times.
