How long until Vince kills the Fashion Files?

  3. How long until Vince kills the Fashion Files?
This is a segment that has got more and more obscure, and better as a result, as the weeks have gone on. I find it very unlikely Vince is having much input with it, the only twin peaks he cares about is the titties on his next black call girl.

For a show and brand that dumbs everything down on the grounds of mass appeal, I can’t see the exquisitely on point parody of twin peaks from this weeks episode going down well no matter how much praise it’s receiving.

It’s great to see people given some creative freedom in the incredibly restricted environment of WWE, where everything is so tightly scripted and produced. You’d hope they’d learn some lessons from this and let some of their talent take the reigns on segments, but in all likelihood I can see this segment getting wrapped up and canned because Vince, Dunn, etc just don’t get it.

I just know there will be people who will respond to you by saying that Vince killing these segments would be the right thing and that us smarks just don't understand how business works. >.>

Traditionally I’d go along with that logic, if there’s no payoff or money in it then what’s the point? If you’ve got nothing for these guys then repackage or cut.

Things have changed now though, television ratings are going down and the PPVs aren’t as important with a good portion of your fan base locked in on the network.

I’d be looking at giving people a reason to watch the shows every week, and this is a segment I look forward to every week. I think they’re going that way, look at the big matches they’ve given away this week. They got me to tune in to Smackdown for the first time in a while with the promise of two big matches, so yeah.

Yes, it was the one before Twin Peaks. Tyler was Scully and one of the posts behind them was "The R-Truth is out there."

Killing this segment would be right for business. We don't understand how the business works. <.<

The fear with me is that I don't know if Vince will kill it on the grounds of "not getting it". Killing it on the grounds of a tag team that was basically dead a year ago getting over on their own? That seems more like Vinnie Mac.

I'm wondering if Vince actually watches SDL outside of a few people.

Breeze and Fandango are not funny and not getting over, so I guess they squash it at Summerslam by having Rowan and Harper destroy them on the pre-show.

Their promos are incoherently bad and most people don't understand the references they make because nobody watched those shows they spoof.

Maybe if you've lived in a bubble that only had access to WWE programming as far as pop culture is concerned (which Vince McMahon seems to believe his audience does at times). But acting like people aren't familiar with The X-Files and Twin Peaks (the latter being a big deal right now due to its revival) is pretty silly, even for a well-established joke account to claim.

Something where they are in the desert and come across a parked truck. They walk up to investigate it... and then the Ascension come running out in tighty whities.

Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't be shocked if Vince does eventually decide to kill it, for whatever silly reason. It's not like it'd be the first time he wanted to pull the plug on something that he didn't understand, nor would it be the first time he tried to undercut someone who was doing something to get themselves over when they "weren't supposed to be".

Y'all are crazy. The twin peaks fashion files got actual coverage in entertainment magazines and websites. Vince is about to push them back into tag title contention

Twin Peaks?

Never watched it.

Never will watch it.

Don't understand the references made in the promo.

Maybe they should try something people do watch like a spoof of WALKING DEAD.

They can feud once the tag team gets broken up..

Fandango can be Negan

Breeze can be Rick Grimes

And it's fine that you don't watch Twin Peaks. It's not for everyone (especially the revived series).

However, people DO watch it. You may not have gotten the references, but a lot more people did.

Exactly. It still has a following as did The X Files. But I think for the younger generation of teens to people in their early 20s they probably need to see a Walking Dead or Game of Thrones spoof.

But X Files and Peaks are still fresh in people's memory.

I'd say they should do Fashion Thrones next. Then Fashion Detective(True Detective)
And then, FashionWorld(WestWorld)
