Yeah, for sure. Going to the ICU is never really a routine visit. I'm hoping he pulls through.

Also, the Smackdown womens title is between Naomi and Natalya, so Charlotte wasn't involved anyway. I'd expect a major face pop for her the next time she shows up on TV.

As the parent of an 11 month old with congenital heart disease, you would be surprised what doctors consider routine. My son's aoritic coarctation repair was considered routine surgery and we were in the NCVICU (neonatal cardiovascular intensive care unit) for 3 weeks.

My wife posted on FB asking for prayers, I missed a month of work. Surgery is a huge deal to the patient and their family. It's still routine.

Holy s*** man, I'm sorry to hear about your son! Is he OK?

We actually have an appointment with his cardiologist on Thursday to find out for sure. We knew leaving the hospital last year that he was going to need a second surgery in a year to 18 months since he has 3 ventricular septal defects (VSDs), basically holes in the center of his heart, that they have been monitoring once a month. Two of them have closed on their own, the heart is a muscle and as it grows the holes can close up. So surgery number two might not be as intensive as we thought. They put a band over one of the valves going into his heart (sorry, but the name of that one escapes me at the moment) to push blood flow in the right direction, and it's possible we might just be in the hospital overnight as the surgery would be an incision just big enough to remove the band as he has grown into it and doesn't need it.

As for my son himself, they told us he would be behind developmentally but we were discharged from physical therapy and feeding therapy after a couple months. He had a feeding tube for a while because he was in the zero percentile for height and weight but he learned how to get it out around the time he hit the 20th percentile so they decided to just leave it out. He started walking about a week ago and he's in the 85th percentile now. You wouldn't know he's sick just looking at him, all that really remains as a visible reminder is the scar down the center of his chest. It seems unreal, if I had heart surgery last September I would probably still be in bed lol.

It was all terrifying at the time, and we aren't exactly calm about his upcoming surgery no matter how minor it could possibly end up being. Looking back though, it all went smoothly, exactly like they said it would. I hope the same for Ric, his family and loved ones. We obviously don't know much but this man was such a large part of my childhood and life that I want to believe his situation is similar.

Sums it up well for me. I really hope he recovers and has some good and healthy years left, but I've had people go younger who lived cleaner lives, he's getting up there in years and rocked pretty hard for many decades, gonna happen eventually.

This is real news! I don't want flair to die but he it's hard to be sorry for him. I just feel more sorry for Charlotte just like tamina.

I feel bad for his friends and family too. If Ric truly is in bad shape then I just hope doesn't have to suffer anymore. Hopefully that means he survives whatever he is there for, for his families sake. I don't want to sound cold when I say this, but I would rather see someone pass than see them suffer. I felt the same way when my dad died 7 years ago. He was suffering from cancer. I'm still sad about it, but I could be sad while he suffers or I could be sad while he is at peace.

It sucks. But I've had so many people close to me, including parents, die, that I'm so numb to death now. Especially if it's not in my immediate circle.

Flair had a good run. I hope he pulls through and beats this. But if not, I'll choose to celebrate the good.

Sums it up well for me. I really hope he recovers and has some good and healthy years left, but I've had people go younger who lived cleaner lives, he's getting up there in years and rocked pretty hard for many decades, gonna happen eventually.

68 isnt really "getting up there" these days. These are obviously complications of long term drug abuse, not someone who's time is up. We're going to see it a lot more from his generation. It's very sad but I hope younger generations learn from it

Raw or Smackdown should be cancelled just in case he does pass away before the show.

Also, John Cena shouldn't be allowed to become a 17 time champ in honor of Ric Flair.

My dad died about 11 months ago and was a big Flair fan. There's actually a decent chance they were related as Flair was a black market baby and born close to where my dad's from in Tennessee. That and a strong physical resemblance. But neither here nor there, Flair was his favorite wrestler. And losing Ric somehow feels like losing another part of my dad.

Flair was checked into the hospital yesterday for routine monitoring and everything was ok.

This morning we find out things aren't as good as they seem. Goes into a medical induced coma, has colon surgery.

My guess is he had a colonoscopy and they found something like polluyps ( we hope) and had to remove them. Due to his heart condition they had to put him in the medical induced coma.

Dave Meltzer discussed Ric Flair’s health situation on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio. Here are a couple of notes:

      * Flair was taken to the hospital on Saturday morning after complaining about severe pain.
      * Flair was then placed into medically induced coma and underwent colon surgery due to a blockage.
      * While Flair came out of the surgery, his condition still remains serious.
      * Flair is currently on kidney dialysis.
      * Most of Monday was a bad situation and “not looking good at all” but the fact that he’s alive and recovering is a good sign.

We will keep you updated if we receive more details regarding Flair’s health.

Ric Flair remains in critical condition as of last word in a hospital in Atlanta.

Flair underwent colon surgery yesterday to remove a blockage that was the catalyst for a number of different health issues that followed including kidney failure. Those in WWE were made aware that Flair is on kidney dialysis as well. A key is being able to get the kidneys back functioning.

The surgery was considered a success, but as noted there are more issues involved.

With fans and people within the pro wrestling industry sending well wishes for her father, Charlotte Flair posted a message thanking people for their support this morning.

Ric Flair’s Girlfriend Reveals Details on His Status
      http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/08/16/ric-flairs-girlfriend-reveals-details-status/

As we noted earlier today, there appears to be conflicting reports regarding Ric Flair’s surgery. While “Mean” Gene Okerlund mentioned on Facebook that Flair had had colon surgery, Ric Flair’s girlfriend Wendy Barlow is denying that Flair had colon surgery.

Wendy issued the following statement regarding Flair’s status:

“Just want to give an update to my friends and Family as I have been unable to talk on the phone without crying and just feel shocked over events….I took Ric to the Hospital Friday night with Severe Abdominal pain. From that moment on it all seems like a nightmare…multiple Organ problems. Not to go into too many details I want everyone to know he still needs Prayers as he is still in Critical Condition. And No he did not have Colon Surgery….It was another Surgery! I don’t know how the Media comes up with their stories. I have been by his side since Friday and will continue to make sure he is getting the best care possible. Thanks for all of the support and Love”
